Erongo
Mountains:
North
of the B2 is dominated by the
2319 m high Erongo mountains.
They have a roughly circular diameter
of about 35 km, and were formed
by volcanic activity some 140
million years ago.
From th earliest times people
have been attracted to these mountains,
as is evident from the wealth
of rock paintings and engravings,
with pottery and other relics
providing evidence of more recent
habitation. |
