Etosha
National Park: Etosha
is the flagship of Namibia's conservation
areas and is ranked as one of
Africa's great game parks.
The focal point
of the park is the Etosha Pan,
a vast saline pan stretching for
120 km from east to west and with
a maximum width of 55 km. The
animals are typical of the southern
savanna plains of Africa and the
most abundant large mammal is
the springbok. Other commonly
seen species are Burchell's zebra,
gemsbok, kudu, blue wildebeest,
giraffe and elephant. |
